The Best Technology
If you really want to work from home with ease, you’re going to have to make sure you have the best technology at your disposal. It might feel hard for you to splash the cash, when you know you get by on the technology you have, but you won’t realise how much easier your working day will become if you invest in a little technology. Internet is a biggy for the most of you, so lets start there. You first need to figure out how bad your internet is, and you can do this when you test the internet speed. Online tools can help you do this, and it will tell you how many megabytes of upload and download speed that you have. Sound like a lot of jargon to you? Well, you need high amount of both to be able to work comfortably. If you find your speeds are poor, contact your internet provider to see if they can do anything about it. Secondly, you need to make sure you have a really good computer. A PC is so much easier to work from, and the more storage and processing power you have, the easier it’ll be for you to work!
Lock Yourself Away
You really do need to lock yourself away if you want to get through the working day. So many people find it hard because there’s a million and one distractions being thrown their way, namely the TV. So, if you have a spare room, make it into a little office. If you don’t you could have an outhouse installed, or if you have a garage use that. Leave your phone in another room, and just zone out to your work! You’ll find that you get it done so much quicker by doing this.
Hourly breaks are an essential. It’s hard to stay motivated and energised when you know you don’t have managers actually looming over you, so your concentration is more likely to dip. So, every hour, go and have a 5 minute break. That break will quickly recharge your mind, allowing your mind to focus on the task at hand when you get back! Just make sure your hourly break doesn’t involve you going to sit and watch TV, it’ll be too hard for you to get back up
